Cheers to new
Hello everyone! I sincerely hope that 2017 has been as kind to you as it has been to me!
I know that may not be the case for everyone but I wanted to quickly write this post just before starting the New Year for three main reasons:
1. Reflect on the good times of 2017 and appreciate its blessings
2.Share my hopes and aspirations for 2018
3.Inspire people to celebrate their own, unique beginnings and start 2018 with a possitive mentality.
Counting my blessings...
The past two years have been full of possitive changes for me and no matter how difficult day to day reality was , I was able to achieve most of my goals and that gave me heaps of self-confidence!
This January marks my two years anniversary since I started working for an amazing IT company and I am grateful to be able to work in a very friendly and supportive environment with great mentors that are happy to share their valuable knowledge with me. (It’s been so life-changing that I am going to write a separate post about my mentorship experience)
Not only my job is far from your typical, boring 9 to 5 but I am able to grow, explore new possibilities and express my opinion, something that is extremely important to me.
Having a steady income source, I’ve been able to achieve a step towards my goal for 2018, which is finishing my house and moving in with my boyfriend of seven plus years.
Basically I had to pay a massive amount of money to the government for taking care of the paperwork associated with owning a house and continuing the building process that my parents had started about ten years ago.
I’m so glad that I was able to overcome the financial obstacle and I feel optimistic that we will be able to move in together at the end of 2018.
Last but no least, I am grateful for being healthy in 2017, grateful that my mother is still cancer-free and that we are still able to live a decent lifestyle, which is more than the average person in my country is able to say for themselves at this point.
What I hope for 2018...
First and foremost I hope for another year that me and the people I care about are totally healthy and worry-free!
Then, I hope to be able to connect with more people on a deeper level and help them realize their potential in life.
Starting this blog, building an online community here is nothing more than my desire to make someone’s life a little more meaningful.
If I am able to help another person in any way online, it will all be worth it for me.
As far as most specific goals are concerned, I am aiming for three things in 2018:
- Moving in a finished home with my boyfriend, as I mentioned before
- Getting an IBM certificate for a specific technological product and expanding my technical knowledge
- Making some extra money on the side to support my family. At this point, my only option is doing it online, which I’m going to have to find out by trial & error of course!
What I hope for YOU in 2018
I’ve only recently joined the blogging world and meeting some of you on social media, I’ve been introduced to a whole new different perspective!
I’ve read blog posts, mission statements and I’ve witnessed how each and every one of you uses their own dreams to motivate themselves & others to chase after the one thing that matters the most to them!
To all of you who want to start a blog, an online business, a support/ awareness group:
I want you to be free of your inhibitions, let go of past mistakes, detach from anything that causes you to feel emotional pain, fear and self-doubt.
Not to sound too cheezy but I hope that you make yourself your inspiration for 2018!
For example, let’s take a common case of someone that is passionate about creating a successful blog and online business, someone like me.
Go online, talk to people, join communities, subscribe and stock if you have to, all the amazing bloggers out there that have created something like what you want to create. Take in all the inspiration you can handle and then go to your own blog and DO IT YOURSELF !
All you have to do is start 2018 with a winner’s mentality!
Go all out, try this, try that, fail a couple or a thousand times but do it your way! In the end there’s only one possible outcome:
You will have created your own beginning in time, your own start of a journey, one that you can be proud for and reflect on the next years to come!
Thank you for taking the time to read this post, have a wonderful New Year’s day and don’t forget to clink your glasses tonight saying “Cheers to new beginnings!” for me! That would be so awesome!
